Ltjg Thomas O'Connell

LTJG Thomas E. O’Connell, USN (Ret.), age 68, of Gulf Breeze, was called home February 06, 2020.  He was born in Hoboken, NJ on November 02, 1951, to the late Frank V. and Adeline O’Connell.  “Tom” was a proud U.S. Navy Retiree.  As a youth he excelled in swimming, earning both the All County and All State honors.  Later in life he grew into an avid golfer and played often with friends at Tiger Point.  In 1995 Tom was inducted into the Hoboken High School Inaugural Hall of Fame class.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank V. O’Connell and Adeline M. O’Connell; and his sister Maureen P. O’Connell Neville.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carolyn O’Connell; brother, Frank V. O’Connell (Noreen); nephews, Frank W. O’Connell (Kristi), Christopher Neville (Ellen), and Fran Neville (Christine); nieces, Shelley P. O’Connell and Maribeth Neville Dell (Andrj); and a host of extended family, friends and golf buddies.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563.  The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.  Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers Tom’s family is asking that donations in his memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/donate.
