Sarah “Lucille” Adams of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep January 3, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born on August 29, 1932 in Lowell, North Carolina. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, John H Adams, Sr.
Lucille worked at several jobs in her lifetime between following her husband around the world and raising three children, all born in different countries. She was a ball room dance instructor, Bridge instructor, Civil Service in administration and Secretary to the Ambassador to Egypt, and volunteered at the Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bridge, seamstress, square dancing. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business.
She is predeceased by her mother, Annie Hord, and her father, Robert Smith; her four siblings, Margaret (Smith) Royster, Helen (Smith) Royster, Edward Smith, Dorothy (Smith) Ewell and Grandson, Gary Wayne (GW) Thornton.
She is survived by her three children; Betty (Chris) Moller, Tina (Kent) Dilts and Jay (Sandy) Adams, Jr. Eight grandchildren; Angela (Brian) Naginey, Michele (Brian) McDonald, Christopher Moller, JR, Hollie Thornton, John Adams, III, Timothy (Aubrey) Dilts, Michael Adams, Shelby Adams. Seven great grandchildren; Tyler Thornton, Aidan McDonald, Ethan Naginey, Emma McDonald, Serenity Adams, Abigail Dilts, and Sarah Dilts.

Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, January 8th 5-7pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 9th at 2pm at Good Shephard Lutheran Church, 4257 GB Pkwy (highway 98).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lucille’s name to Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Gulf Breeze.
