Sally Snider

April 29, 1930 — December 17, 2020

Gulf Breeze, Florida

Sally Osborne Snider, 90, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

A native of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, Sally moved to Gulf Breeze in 1972 with her husband, the late H. Lawrence Snider, where they raised their three children: Harvey, Sylvia and Paul. Sally was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. Over the years, she enjoyed baking oatmeal raison cookies for her husband, gardening, tending to various dogs, and playing cards and Scrabble with her grandchildren. She also volunteered for many years at Baptist Hospital, Pensacola.

As her health declined in recent seasons, she was grateful for the assistance provided by her caregivers, especially Ms. Helen Doubleday.

Survivors of Sally include sisters Hazel Younger of Virginia and Inez Paschal of North Carolina, sons Harvey (Scarlet) Snider of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Paul (Sherie) Snider of Gulf Breeze, and daughter Sylvia (David) Young of Greenwood Village, Colorado. Sally’s legacy lives on with her grandchildren, Luke Snider (Lilian), Sam Snider, Sally Meide (Matt), Sara Snider, Taylor Young, Chandler Young, Paul Snider, Jr., Joe Snider, Pete Snider, and with her great granddaughter, Lily Snider.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her father, Raymond Edgar Osborne, mother, Clie Thornburg Osborne, and brothers, Harold, Willard and Edward Osborne.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at The Watermark Gulf Breeze, Home Instead Senior Care and Emerald Coast Hospice.
