We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery
Rose Marie Hanson Jenkins, 86, passed away peacefully and entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born March 7, 1936, in Dallas, Texas.
She graduated from the University of Portland, in Oregon, with a degree in Sociology. She proudly served our country as a Navy Lt jg in Norfolk, VA, where she met a handsome Navy officer, Wendal Lamar Jenkins, who was soon to be her husband for 58 years.
Rose was a very supportive military wife, and she enjoyed their travels. After Wendal’s 23 years of honorable service in 1983, they settled in Gulf Breeze, Fl, where they and their two sons, Scott and Doug, were very active in the community.
Rose had a great personality and sense of humor, and she enjoyed volunteering at Saint Ann Catholic Parrish in Gulf Breeze, and was a member of the Santa Rosa Woman’s Club, and a volunteer at Gulf Breeze Hospital. She enjoyed her friends at the McDonald’s coffee group and the exercise club.
Rose loved her family, her life-long friends, and her many cat fur babies.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Wendal, two sons Scott Lamar and Douglas Andrew, her parents Clara and Glenville Hanson, sister-in-law Jan Beyea, brother-in-law Mike Jenkins, and nephew Ronald Beyea, Jr.
