Patsy Sue Sims

After being a bright light for everyone that knew her for 70 years, Patsy Sue Sims passed away peacefully while surrounded by love ones on July 15, 2019 while at Santa Rosa Medical Center. With 12 other brothers and sisters, Patsy was born on February 28th, 1949 to Vancil and Connie Gage near Berryville Arkansas.  Growing up in a big family Patsy was taught from a young age that family was the most important constant in life. Her parents made sure that whenever she finally left that mountain that she would take all the discipline, determination, and love needed to face the world and survive the trials of man. After some years passed with several highs and lows, Patsy met and fell in love with Junior D. Sims SR who became her best friend and eventually her husband. When Patsy married Junior, she became the mother of three small children, and eventually gave birth to two more children.  As a military spouse she wanted to help her family out, so she decided to go to school to learn how to be a beautician. Even as a young mother Patsy was dedicated to the survival of her family.

The bond between mother and child is truly unmeasurable by man. Regardless of the high’s, low’s, good time’s, bad time’s whenever a mom passes away all the child remembers is all the love that they where shown by their moms loving touch. Patsy left behind five very much-loved children: David L. Sims, James D. Sims, Debbie K. Crone, Junior D. Sims Jr, and Bobby R. Sims.  From all the love that Patsy and Junior showed them together they gave them ten grandkids and eleven great grandkids.

In this world filled with hate only those with the ability to love and share love will flourish. The love that Patsy showed her children had no limits, and that love will always live on in their hearts. A mother’s love is like a strong old oak tree sitting out by itself in the middle of a field unguarded by the elements. It doesn’t matter how many times it is struck by lightning, winds break the branches, or lack of rain weakens its body if the roots run wide and deep the tree will always come back stronger than before. As Patsy is greeted at the gates of Heaven by those that passed before her, she still leaves behind so many that will truly miss her. Not only will her husband and children miss her, but so will her remaining brothers and sister. Her brothers: Tom Gage, Randy Gage, Ronny Gage, Ricky gage, and her sister Sandra Smith.

At the end of a ones life a person often wonders what kind of legacy they are leaving for those they cared so much for. Patsy’s legacy is her love for her family and friends. She spent a lifetime dedicated to the preservation of her family so they would know that when the day did come that she still loved them very much. Patsy was truly one of Gods greatest gifts that was received by many.

Throughout her life Patsy always made a positive impact on her family, friends, and customers. I truly believe that George Burns said it best whenever he stated that “too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair!” For 31 years Patsy served the good people of Pace Florida as a Master Beautician helping each customer as they sat in her chair find the complex answer to whatever devastating question that was plaguing their life at the time.  It didn’t matter if they were just needing a new look, or an open ear Patsy was always willing to offer both.  We will all miss her beautiful spirit, and the energy and love that surrounded her.
