Patsy Bugg

January 19, 1934 — December 26, 2020

Gulf Breeze

Patsy Davis-Bugg, 86, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, was granted her angel wings on Saturday, December 26, 2020.  Patsy was born on January 19th, 1934 to the late Dorothy Elizabeth Davis.  Patsy met her husband Dennis (Gene) Bugg while listening to him play the trumpet in a local band.  It was love at first sight, they married on Sunday, July 11, 1952 at the Wood River, Illinois, Methodist Church, and celebrated 48 years of marriage.

A native of Wood River, Illinois, Patsy moved to Gulf Breeze in 1972 with her husband, the late Dennis (Gene) Bugg, and their three children: Leslie Bugg, Sandra Gutting, and Russell Bugg.

Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was the past Exalted ruler of the Navarre Elks Lodge 2787.  Over the years, Patsy enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, and fishing.  She was known for her savory homestyle chicken and dumplings, Texas sheet cake, and homemade blackberry pie.  She had a fondness for the ocean and enjoyed making crab cakes and fresh seafood for her family to enjoy.  She cherished her grandchildren, and they will always remember how she would “miraculously” win at Monopoly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis (Gene) Bugg and her parents Dorothy and Woodrow Davis.  Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Leslie Bugg of Gulf Breeze, FL, Sandy Bugg-Gutting of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Russell Bugg of Perry, GA.  Grandchildren Samuel Gutting, Nora Gutting-Sturgeon, Matt Bugg, Teresa Walker, Chelsea Wildes, Russell Bugg Jr., and great grandchildren Charlotte Bugg, Brady Bugg, Anabel Sturgeon, Westyn Walker, and Olivia Gutting.

Patsy enjoyed life to the fullest like a true Irish lady.  Honoring her wishes, her family will have a private celebration of her life.
