Kathryn Barrow

October 18, 1927 — July 13, 2022

Kathryn was born on October 18, 1927 to Charles Elvin Blackwell and Kathleen Johnson Blackwell in Covington Co, AL.  She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 60 years, Billy Barrow and one sister, Max Silcox.  She is survived by three sons: Bill B. of Lakewood, CO; Bobby of Semmes, AL and Michael (wife, Deborah) of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Charles; two sisters, Alexis Diane Fowler, of Pensacola and sister Toni Foutz of Keswick, VA.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Kathryn grew up on her grandfathers Johnson’s farm in Covington Co, AL.  She attended school at Red Level AL.  After graduating from Red Level High School as Valedictorian, she enrolled in the University of Alabama, where she remained until her fiancé of 5 years, Billy Joe Barrow, returned from the Pacific Theatre of Operations.  They were married and had three sons: Bill, Bobby and Mike.  Her family lived in Pensacola from 1947 to the present.

Kathryn was a member of Plainview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.  She considered her greatest accomplishment as having taught Sunday School in two Southern Baptist Churches for over 50 years.

She passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Pensacola, Florida.  A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Plainview Baptist Church in Pensacola from 11:00-12:00.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM with Rev. Bill Flannigan officiating.  Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
