Jo Ann Lagergren

JoAnn Smith Lagergren was born in Halcyondale, Georgia, on December 2, 1947, to Herman and Gracie Mae Smith.  JoAnn passed away on December 27, 2020, at the age of 73.

JoAnn received her Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and worked as a Medical Technologist for the Pensacola Naval Hospital for 35 years. During that time, she also received her Master’s Degree from Troy University and spent some time as an Associate Professor at the University of West Florida. JoAnn enjoyed sewing & crafting, but most of all, she enjoyed her family. Sunny pool days were the best days with family and friends by her side!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gracie Mae Smith; siblings, Lavaughn Smith, Ruth Maxine Smith, Jimmie Smith, and Linda Smith Erickson.

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Lagergren and Emily Lagergren Trust (Mark Trust); grandchildren, Kai Lagergren and Haley Trust and sister, Brenda Smith Davis.
