He was the most amazing man. He loved his family and friends and was always in the mood to have fun, laugh, and make memories. His passion for flying never ended.
He was a self proclaimed “driver of fish.” There are so many wonderful things to say about my father. It has been wonderful having what little time I had with him, but there is simply never enough time. There is no preparation for this kind of loss. Our comfort is knowing he that he is now with his beloved wife, parents, brother and sisters, sitting at the table with the great “I AM”.
He was a Son, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Father and Friend to many. You will be truly missed. While we grieve, know we are not saying goodbye, but only until we see you again.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air... .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high un-trespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
