Byron A. Gaudry, age 95, of Gulf Breeze, was called home January 7, 2021. He was born December 16. 1925 in Savannah, GA to the late Byron and Reba Gaudry. Byron was a proud WWII era veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired at the rank of Commander. After which he enjoyed a second career in real estate. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Training Teacher and in the Jail Ministry. Byron was also a member of Kiwanis. In his leisure time he enjoyed golf, fishing and was an Amateur Ham Radio Operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Ann Gaudry. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Mildred Gaudry of Gulf Breeze, FL; son, Sam Gaudry of Solomons, MD, daughter-in-law, Yvonne Micheli of Lusby, MD, son, Al (Karen) Gaudry of Jacksonville, FL, daughter, Mary Ann Gaudry (John) Sadler of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandchildren, Kalenda, Chemene, Sam, Mari, Byron, Tina and Rachel; grandchildren’s spouses, Kristen, Daniel, Chris, Ray and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaele, Kaden, Chloe, Jack, Alana, Corwin, Coleman, Emma, Hayden, Isabella and Eli; great-great-grandchildren, Lilly, Rayden and Averee; and a host of extended family, church family and good friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the service begins at 2:00pm, Monday, January 18, 2021 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. Pastor Jeff Spooneybarger will officiate. A funeral cortege will line up at 9:15am, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Olive Baptist Church-Warrington Campus, 103 W. Winthrop St., Pensacola, FL 32507. It will depart promptly at 9:30am, for the interment at Barrancas National Cemetery.
