William Isaac "Bill" Konzelman

William Isaac “Bill” Konzelman unexpectedly passed away on June 1, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born on May 26, 1940, in Greensburg, Indiana, and raised in Gary, Indiana.

William had a healthy academic career, graduating from Lew Wallace High School, and moving on to attend Drake University and Wabash College. After furthering his education, William graduated as class president of the Indiana School of Mortuary Science.

He was a proud owner of several businesses throughout his life, including owning the Konzelman Funeral Homes in both Oxford and Fowler, Indiana. He additionally owned Flower Nook, and Pipemaid Casual Furniture.

William took to directorial work, acting as the Regional Director for the Florida Independent Funeral Directors Association, as well as the Southeast United States Regional Director for Holiday Retirement Senior Living.

Over the course of his life, William participated in many organizations: He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, performed as a member of the Indiana Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Lodge, and Shrine International. William was also a proud member of the Tampa United Methodist Church.

Throughout his life, William especially enjoyed hobbies like golfing, traveling, and cooking.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan Carroll (Brooks) Konzelman, daughter Jill Rene’ Konzelman-Wilson, grandchildren Savannah Jade (Wilson) Smith, Skylar Nicole Wilson, Colton Brooks Wilson, Kyle Daniel Wilson, and sister Elizabeth Gilliland.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dorothy (Nelson) Konzelman, brother-in-law Conrad Gilliland, and nephew William Michael Gilliland.

The family will celebrate Bill’s life at a private service on Pensacola Beach.
