Walter May

Private services for Walter T. May will be January 20, 2015 at Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. May passed away peacefully on January 18, 2015. He was 88 years old. Born in Mobile, Alabama to Walter and Eloyse May. Mr. May was a resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi since 1961. He was a member of the Accounting firm of May and Company and had since retired in 1989. He attended the University of Alabama where he played football for the Crimson Tide. During World War II he served in the 67th Armored Infantry Battalion, 13th Armored Division. He was a member of the Vicksburg Lion's Club and served as treasury of the Vicksburg - Warren County Historical Society for many years. He was preceded in death by his brother David L. May. He is survived by his children, Catherine May Brown of Gulf Breeze, FL, Harold M. May of Vicksburg, MS, Sharon Y. May of Anderson, TX, and David R. May of Bilbao, Spain; one brother Raymond B. May, and five grandchildren. He was a member of Hawkins Methodist Church.
