Tim Baughn

June 5, 1957 — September 23, 2023

Gulf Breeze

Timothy Stephen Baughn was born on June 5, 1957 in Bonne Terre, MO to Donald & Myra Baughn. He is survived by the “Love of his Life”, his wife, Claire Kireta Baughn; son, Corey Allan Baughn; stepdaughter, Christina Gonzales Hugie (Mark); mother, Myra Baughn Estabrook; sister, Teresa Everett (Gerry); brother, Tony Baughn (Ada); grand-children, Ellison Hugie, Rachel Hugie; nieces & nephews, Amber Baughn Tucei (Jeff), TJ Baughn, Christen Everett, Brandon Everett (Ericka), Jared Everett; great nieces & nephews, Lyla Tucei, Landon Everett, London Everett.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Donald Baughn; stepfather, Allan Estabrook; grandparents, Marvin & Jewell Stephens, Leonard & Leraun Baughn.

As Entrepreneurs, business partners, and best friends, Tim and his brother, Tony Baughn, have been in business together since 1979. Tim graduated from Tate High School in Pensacola, FL and attended college at PJC. Tim and Tony moved to CA in 1979 where they pursued a career in auto restyling. They moved back to Pensacola in 1981 where they opened their first business, Precision Auto, which became Autostyle in 1992. As the economy changed, they opened a hurricane shutter business in Gulf Breeze, FL. This business grew into what is known today as AMD Aluminum/Fortified Shutters. The company now includes production of not only hurricane protection but also marine and custom aluminum fabrication, supplying customers nationwide and abroad.

Tim is known for being a faithful Christian who lived out his faith daily. He loved his family more than life itself. He spent many years of his life serving in his church leadership and teaching. He was a walking testimony of God’s grace & forgiveness, and if you knew him, he made sure you knew it. As a faithful husband, father to Corey, and stepfather to Christina, lived his life in this order: God/family/work.

Tim left this world after a 9-month battle with heart disease. He always said he was not a quitter and fought until his final day. He was at complete peace in the end, baffling the medical teams “surrendering” his spirit as he proclaimed, “It is well with my soul”.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to place a memorial in Tim’s honor as a show of thanksgiving to the staff at Baptist hospital for the outstanding loving and compassionate care he received. An account has been set up to receive donations to assist the family with funds for this memorial.
