Susan A. Schluter

Susan was born in Cumberland, MD on August 29,1950 to Ralph (Jim) and Ethel (Goff) Robertson. At the age of 10 her family moved to Gulf Breeze, FL. She loved considering herself as “one of the original Breezers”. She told her mother many times that moving to Gulf Breeze was the best thing that they ever did for her. She attended Gulf Breeze Elementary School in the 5th and 6th grade, Clubs Jr. High and Woodham High. She was an “Original Titan’ in the class of 1968. Susan has maintained contact with many of her Woodham friends, belonging to the Woodham “Lunch Bunch Ladies” who meet monthly.

In December 1969, she formally met Ernie Schluter (although they graduated together from Woodham) and were married March 7, 1970. They had 3 beautiful children, Bridget (Robert) McClendon, Scott (Tamera) and Brandy Jones. Thus began her career as a wonderful mother, which was her main goal in life. She was very supportive and engaged in all their activities. Her children and grandchildren hold a very special place in her heart! She worked at GBMS from January 1985 to June 2017, taking a year off to care for her sick mother.

She is survived by her husband that she adored, Ernie, her 3 children and 5 grandchildren, Brooke Reynolds, Garrett Schluter, Madison Schluter Jarboe (Jazyah), Mckenzie (Derek) Jones and Skyler (Alexis) Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepbrother, Donald (Janet) Robertson.

Susan has many surviving cousins, In-laws, nieces, nephews, along with many friends – all that meant the world to her.

A visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 1-2:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery with the grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
