Stephen Theis

Stephen Eric Theis, 75, of Gulf Breeze, FL, died Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Pruitt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Milton.

Steve was born on January 24, 1948 in Oxford, Ohio to parents Robert and Maxine Theis. He was raised and spent a large portion of his life in Dayton, OH, before moving to Gulf Breeze in 1991. He graduated from Miami University (OH) and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Steve dedicated his life to improving the financial advancement and security of others, serving as a Financial Planner for Karpiak & Associates, an Agent for New York Life Insurance, and establishing Theis Financial Consulting in 2008. An avid boater, Steve was a long-time member of both the Pensacola Yacht Club and the Navarre Beach Yacht Club. He was also an active member of the Pensacola Beach Elks, as well as a member of the Pensacola United Methodist Church.

Steve enjoyed life to the fullest with an irresistible and radiant vibrancy.  He was loved by all who knew him.  Preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Shirley (Dennison), he is survived by a special and beloved friend Theresa Savage, his sister Gail Cumming, stepsons’ James and Stephen Likevich, daughter-in-law Dori Likevich (Myers), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and treasured friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, Florida 32563.  Immediately following will be a reception at the Tiger Point Golf Club. A service of interment of his ashes will be at David’s Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio, on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 10:30 am.
