It is with great respect and sorrow, we share the passing of Shirley Anne Sisco Vaughn (Bogle), a resident of Mobile, Alabama since 1963, who died at age 86 on December 16, 2025. Mrs. Vaughn was a devoted mother, teacher, mentor and friend, admired for her dedication, wisdom, and steadfast life-long commitment to the Church of Christ. Her lasting influence and kind spirit touched many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of compassion. She is survived by her family and friends, who will deeply miss her.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on December 29, 2025, at the Spanish Fort Church of Christ in Spanish Fort, Alabama, with visitation starting at 10:00 am.
Born August 11, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Vaughn earned her Bachelor of Arts from Harding University and a Master of Music Education from North Texas State University. She also pursued additional graduate studies at Memphis State University, the University of Alabama, and the University of South Alabama.
Mrs. Vaughn served as an educator in the Mobile County School System for 28 years before teaching at Mobile Christian School for 16 more years. Following 44 years in full-time teaching, she worked as an adjunct instructor at Faulkner University for eight additional years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Vaughn Jr., and her brother, Harold Thomas Sisco. She is survived by her sons, John Daryl Bogle (Tiffany) and Robert Dale Bogle (Denna); granddaughter, Jenna Bogle Coley (Sean); grandsons, Nicolas Corbin Bogle and William Aiden Bogle; and great-grandchildren, Carter Anthony and Declan James Coley.
