SgtMaj Frank Junior Devaney, USMC (ret.), age 80, of Navarre, was called home February 19, 2021. He was born June 22, 1940 in Humboldt, NE to the late Francis and Myrtle Devaney. Frank was a proud alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School, in Council Bluffs, IA and the University of California, Los Angeles. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy he joined and subsequently retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his retirement he continued to serve in the U.S. Postal Service, as well as with Harley Davidson of Pensacola, FL, Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad of Portland, OR, and Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad of Omaha, NE.
Frank had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, and gun & rifle competition. He was a Master Mason, a member of Schriners International, the National Rifle Association, the Marine Corps League and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francis X. Devaney and Myrtle Devaney; son, David Devaney; and sister Kathleen Schmidt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Devaney; children, Bradley Willis, Kim (Mark) Borie, John Stiles, Jim Stiles and Morgann Monette; grandchildren, Christina Borie, Britney Borie, Sabrina Stanley and Tommy Monette; great-grandchildren, Dominic Borie and Bryan Borie; siblings, Richard Devaney, Sr. and Mary Lou (Martin) Bierman; and a host of extended family, distinguished colleagues and close friends.
