Sara Ann Munday, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, adored mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025 at the age of 94. She was born on November 19, 1930 at her home in Emelle, Alabama to the late Margaret Elizabeth Fuller and Edward Howard Fuller, Sr.
Sara’s life was love centered – her thoughts, actions and prayers came from God’s love which she shared unconditionally with everyone. As a minister’s wife she played many roles in each church Gerald served. She directed choirs, plays and productions, taught Sunday School, and led United Methodist Women and mission projects. Sara worked outside the home as a school teacher, social assistance manager, and program manager in the YWCA and Girl Scout Council. She led efforts in AIDS support and educational organizations. Sara was a published author completing her collection of short stories based on her life entitled “Becoming Myself; a Passage of Grace”. Living a Christian life filled with love for others was evident in all her endeavors. Everyone who met her was blessed by her selfless love, constant strength, nurturing spirit and wise words. Her kindness, warmth, and resilience will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of being touched by her.
Sara is survived by her children Lynn (Craig) Yort, Mark (Kay) Munday, grandchildren, Aaron (Shaye) Johns, Ashley (Bill) Lundy, Ben (Jessica) Munday, Phillip (Katie) Munday, Keith (Kate) Munday, DeAnna (Rickey) Handorf and Dan Yort and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Sisters-in-law Marydean Fuller, Janice Morrison and Pam Haines as well as brother-in-law Ron (Reeva) Munday and many members of her Arbor’s family. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Reverand Gerald Munday, sister, Wrenn Weston, brothers Burton Fuller and Howard Fuller and son, Michael Munday.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 29, 2025 at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, (75 Fairpoint Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561). A reception will follow worship.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Interfaith Ministries/Good Samaritan Clinic (4435 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze Parkway 32563) or Habitat for Humanity of Pensacola in Sara Munday’s memory.
