Samuel "Sam" Waghalter

 Samuel “Sam” Waghalter, 62, of Gulf Breeze, FL was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22. 2023.

     Samuel was born, October 17, 1961 in Shreveport, LA to Irving and Edie Waghalter.   Sam attended Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, LA  and he earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana Tech University.  After college, he successfully grew the family business in Baton Rouge (Lindsey’s Amusements). He moved his family to Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1995 where he worked with Highpoint Hotel Corporation for 15 years.  Sam (along with his wife) opened and was Broker/Owner of REMAX on the Coast and Waghalter Real Estate Management. 

     Funeral services will be at 1pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church with Rev. Pam Avery officiating and Rose Lawn Funeral Home directing.  A reception will be immediately following the service at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.  A private graveside service will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery.  The family request memorial contributions be made to the FairhavenFoundation.org.      

     Samuel was preceded in death by his son, Mark Waghalter and his father, Irving Waghalter. 

     Surviving are his wife, Sherlyn Lindsey Waghalter, Gulf Breeze, FL; daughter, Caroline Waghalter, Pensacola, FL; son, Brian Waghalter (Cristina), Gulf Breeze, FL; mother, Edie Waghalter, Shreveport, LA; sister, Leslie Bowman (David), Blanco, TX; brothers, Sig Waghalter (Jennifer), Baton Rouge, LA and Duncan Waghalter, Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Melissa Bezet (Larry), Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughters, Arabella and Alaina Waghalter, Gulf Breeze, FL; also surviving nieces and nephews that he adored. 

     Sam leaves behind a legacy of impeccable character and a passion for sharing his wisdom and knowledge.  Every business he touched seemed to prosper and thrive, always staying true to “doing the right thing!”  His business partner, Sherlyn Waghalter, was the love of his life and wife for 39 years.  Sam truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two precious granddaughters.

     Pallbearers will be Sigmund Waghalter, Larry Bazet, David Scott, John Alford, Gary Rehwinkel, Mike Tidwell, Matthew and Harris Waghalter.
