SMSGT (Ret) Salvatore “Chris” Joseph Christaldi was born on September 23, 1929, and entered rest on July 7, 2025. Chris enjoyed a long life full of family, friends, and dedication to his country.
Having served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years, he retired as a Senior Master Sargent (E-8) and earned the following decorations for his hard work: Bronze Star Medal; Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Air Force Commendation Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; Army Good Conduct Medal; Air Force Good Conduct Medal; Japan Occupation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal with 3 Campaign Stars; United Nations Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Campaign Stars; Sharp Shooter Medal; and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After retiring, Salvatore’s passion led him to pursue several civilian jobs, including being a member of the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce, the Public Relations Director of Sacred Heart Hospital, and being a business owner & entrepreneur.
Throughout his life, Salvatore had many hobbies – from spending time with cherished loved ones – to collecting stamps. He leaves behind a legacy that will always be remembered.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sebastian Christaldi & Philomena Pilato and brother Richard Christaldi.
Salvatore is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Christaldi; his brothers Joseph, Anthony, and James; his sister Annette Valentino; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The visitation will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM from the pavilion at Barrancas National Cemetery with honors.
