Obituary

Richard Joseph “Richie” Ricci, 52, passed away on June 22, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1974, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to Richard and Diane Ricci.

Richie was larger than life. He had an infectious sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to make people laugh. A natural entertainer, he dreamed of becoming an actor and had a gift for bringing joy to everyone around him. Whether he was playing the drums, singing along to his favorite songs, quoting movies, or sharing stories, Richie made every gathering a little brighter.

He had a passion for music, baseball, cooking, and movies, and he was a proud patriot who loved his country. More than anything, Richie had an incredibly generous heart. He was always willing to help others, and his kindness, laughter, and unforgettable spirit touched countless lives. To those who knew and loved him, Richie truly was a legend in his own way.

Above all else, Richie cherished his family. He and his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Ricci, shared a lifetime of memories together. Richie was an immensely proud father to his son, Nicolas, who is serving in the United States Marine Corps, and to his daughter, Sofia, who shares her father’s love of acting and is following in his footsteps. His children were the pride and joy of his life. Whether it was stopping by to visit his parents, sharing laughs with his brothers and sister, or spending time with his children, Richie was happiest when he was surrounded by the people he loved.

Richie lived in New Jersey and North Carolina before making his home in Pace, Florida, where he spent the last several years with Cindy and their children.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ricci; his son, Nicolas Ricci; his daughter, Sofia Ricci; his loving parents, Richard and Diane Ricci; his brothers, Steven Ricci and Frank Ricci; his sister, Valerie Blackwelder, and her husband, Andrew Blackwelder; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, humor, and generosity.

Richie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and unconditional love. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his spirit will live on in the countless memories he created and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
