Gulf Breeze

RICHARD WARREN REPP, age 86, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully at his home with his family surrounding him on Friday, February 23rd, 2024.

“Rich” was born in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, Ira and Ruby Repp. He had two older brothers, John, & Ira.

Upon graduation from high school in 1955, Rich worked as a pipefitter’s apprentice but soon decided to join the U.S. Navy. In 1962, after his four years in the Navy were up, he joined the US Coast Guard. His career took him from Michigan to Alaska and then to Louisiana. His final rank was Master Chief Bostwain's Mate.

Upon retirement from the US Coast Guard, Rich briefly worked for Zapata Gulf Marine where he worked as the first mate transporting supplies to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. He and Connie had vacationed many times in Florida and decided to relocate to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1986. After relocation, Rich worked in Civil Service at NAS Pensacola for the next 14 years processing parts for US Black Hawk helicopters.

Among his many hobbies, Rich was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, he also loved reading, watching Westerns, golfing, woodworking and playing Cribbage.

It was in Gulf Breeze that Rich was baptized. He loved attending services at Coastline Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze, FL. He actively participated in Men’s Bible Study and supported those in need by visiting them in the hospital.

Throughout his life, Rich and Connie traveled a lot to visit family and friends. Camping across the US was one of his favorite things to do in his later years. They even traveled together with their church to Israel where they visited many holy sites and came back with lots of photos and stories. They also purchased a home in the mountains of NC where they frequently stayed all Summer to avoid the Florida heat.

Rich leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Connie, as well as three children: Donna (Michael) Douglas, Scott Repp (Patti), and Richard Repp (Dana), as well as five grandchildren, John, Anne, William, Jessica, and Janelle.

A celebration of life will be 11 am, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Coastline Calvary Chapel, 1122 Oriole Beach Road, Gulf Breeze, FL, with Pastor John Spencer and Pastor Joe Prestridge officiating.  Honors with the United States Coast Guard will be rendered at Coastline Calvary Chapel.  Inurnment will be at NAS Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL.  The  family will receive friends from 10 am until the service time.

The family would like to thank Baptist Hospital, Emerald Coast Hospice, their church family from Coastline Calvary Chapel, and the many friends and neighbors for their ongoing support & love during this difficult time.
