Phillip Mullins

July 16, 1954 — November 5, 2023

 

Phillip Wayne Mullins, age 69 of Navarre, FL passed away on November 5, 2023 in Pensacola after a long illness. He was born in Montgomery, AL on July 16, 1954.

 

Phil spent his life devoted to his family, work and helping those he loved. After graduating from Rehobeth High School, Phil joined the Navy. He proudly served for 21 years, achieving the rank of Chief before retiring in 1994. Following his retirement from the Navy, Phil graduated from Okaloosa Technical College, earning his Practical Nursing diploma. He devoted his next 25 years to many different families as a pediatric home health nurse, while also working as a civil servant at local military commands. Phil was a long-time member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was an avid bowler, a hopeful fisherman, a passionate basketball fan, and greatly enjoyed family poker nights. Phil deeply cherished his family and friends, but his greatest joy and achievement in life can be found in the eyes of his children and grandchildren.

 

Phil was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Kate Vann; parents, John J. and Charlotte Lang Mullins; brother, Michael B. Mullins; as well as an infant brother and sister.       

Survivors include his wife, Teresa (Teri) Mullins; sons, Phillip Jason (Amanda) Mullins, and Jeremy W. (Louise) Mullins; daughter, Kate Swartz; stepchildren, Abigail M. Ferguson, and Dylan T. Blaum; grandchildren, Faryn, Bailey, Mason, Cadence, Norah, Jayce, Lilli, and Sawyer; sister, Carrie E. Maddox and brothers, John C. (Lisa) Mullins and Rick Mullins. 

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home beginning at Noon on Thursday, November 16, 2023. There will be a visitation before the service from 10:00-12:00 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola. 

 

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
