Born on August 30, 1933, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, Pat was the eldest of five children raised on the family farm by John and Edna Busch (Fleege). Long before sunrise she was milking cows, feeding hogs, and helping with home chores. In fourth grade she met David Jogerst – these childhood sweethearts married February 22, 1955. Together they built a life of adventure, devotion and partnership.
As a United States Air Force wife, Pat turned each USAF order into a new chapter. From the forests of North Carolina & Georgia to deserts in Nevada & Arizona, from icy winters in Michigan to the sun-scorched runways of Tripoli, Libya, she made over twenty locations home for her growing family. Her husband David retired in 1974 to Florida, got bored and started his second career with Westinghouse: four years in Pittsburg and sixteen more in Bremerton, Washington. After David's second retirement in 1993 the family moved to Guff Breeze, Florida. Pat adapted to each location making a snug home with new friends, bountiful gardens, and enjoyment from crafts including cooking, canning, sewing, and quilting. She could cook anything and especially enjoyed boating in Washington State and Florida. Pat kept touch with family and friends; wrote countless letters and cards often traveled to visit others and warmly welcomed visiting relatives and friends to her home.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday. December 10th at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, Florida. A graveside ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM at Barrancas National Cemetery on the grounds of Naval Air Station Pensacola. Both husband David and son John are interred there.
