Marshal H.
Emerson
Oct 9, 1945 — Oct 11, 2026
Marshal “Buck” Emerson, 81 passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, with his three
children at his side. His passing leaves behind the legacy of a life lived to the fullest extent
measured both by the family and friendships that he cherished and the memories he
created with others.
A devoted father to his children, Buck loved unconditionally and truly was the teacher of
many things, the protector of the family, the reliable shoulder to lean on in all life’s
challenges, and the reminder that there is no substitute for working hard and playing hard
too. He exemplified what it meant to be strong, reliable, and honorable with a healthy
sense of humor that was ever sharp and witty.
He was successful and accomplished in his professional life as well taking great pride in
his long career with Merrill Lynch. He built lifelong relationships both in his personal and
professional life which he cherished. He was a mentor and guide to many, always willing to
give time, to offer advice, to solve a problem, or to lend a hand.
Buck had a welcoming and honest personality that was magnetic. He made everyone feel
important and welcomed everyone with open arms saying the more the merrier. He loved
the simple pleasure of gathering people together and was happiest when surrounded by
family and friends, rarely turning down an opportunity to spend time with them. When
asked what he had planned for the day his stock answer was never enough and he meant it
no matter what he was doing, he always had time for more if it meant spending time with
someone he cared about.
Buck had a personality that filled a room and a laugh that was unmistakably heartfelt. He
had a razor-sharp wit and always had a great story to tell. Whether rocking on the porch,
playing guitar around the campfire, or sitting around the kitchen table, his blue eyes would
twinkle every time he brought a memory to life.
Buck’s memory lives in his three children Marshall Emerson (Julia), Adrienne Emerson
(Shawn Brooks), and Jake Emerson (Kristen), life partner Suzanne Pfeiffer, three sisters
Shelley Moorefield (Robert), Stacey Wright (Michael), and Kimberly Spicer, five
grandchildren Fletcher, Charlotte, Remy, Harper, and Coulter Emerson, and five nieces and
nephews Ashley Parker, Casey Heimos, Christopher Wright, Lauren Wright, and Hannah
Vincent. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
