Marie Hayes

Marie Ellis Hayes July 10, 1927 July 24, 2008 Marie Ellis Hayes, age 81, died Thursday, July 24, 20 at a local nursing facility after a lengthy illness. Marie was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charles K. and Adella Ellis. Marie was married to the late Merlin Julion Hayes and they had resided in Gulf Breeze for the last 46 years. Marie worked for several local banks for over 30 years as an Operations Manager until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles and dancing. Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Merlin Julion Hayes, sister, Margaret M. Ellis, brothers, Kenneth G. Ellis and Keith F. Ellis and sister-in-law, Barbara Ellis. Marie is survived by three sons; Frank D. (Linda) Hayes, Stephen (Terry) Hayes and Michael (fiancé Cindy) Hayes, all of Pensacola; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Walter Steele, of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. The family will receive guests from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Burial will follow immediately after at the Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Family Services or your favorite charity.
