Linda Giordano

March 7, 1939 — October 7, 2018

Linda Louise Doyle Giordano, age 79, of Florence, AL. died on October 7, 2018, at home surrounded by her family in her current residence of Navarre, Florida.

The daughter of Robert and Louise Doyle was born on March 7, 1939, in Fall River Massachusetts. Linda received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama and served as an accountant to the city of Florence. She was an active member in the League of Women Voters. Linda was known for her love of travel and making the best homemade pizza and chocolate chip cookies in the South. She lived the majority of her life in Florence, Alabama as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Surviving is Linda's husband of 59 years, Paul Giordano; daughter, Lisa Giordano of Navarre; son, Michael Giordano of Pensacola; daughter, Maria Dobbs (Dale) of Florence; granddaughter, Abby Dobbs Moore (Trey) of New York; grandson, John Paul Dobbs of Florence; brother, Bob Doyle (Holly) of Massachusetts; brother, Michael Doyle (Elisa) of Pennsylvania; brother, Chris Doyle (Karen) of Texas; and sister, Susanna Doyle of Massachusetts. Linda will be greatly missed by all of us.

Having discovered books in the library at a very young age, Linda was a lifelong avid reader and lover of books. It was rare that you would ever find Linda without a book in her hand and a novel in progress. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library (flpl.org) or your local public library.

Per the family's wishes, a private, informal service was held in Navarre, FL.

"There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all." -Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
