On June 23, 2026, Jonathan "Jon" Martin Kanzigg Sr. passed away peacefully with his family by his side, losing his brave battle with cancer, and is now with the Lord.

An avid fisherman, Jon always enjoyed his time on the water, as well as traveling. He retired from the City of Gulf Breeze after many years of dedicated service.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Caroline Kanzigg; his son, Jonathan Martin Kanzigg Jr. and his wife Dawn Kanzigg; and his three cherished grandchildren: Lance Kanzigg and his wife Laura, Noah Kanzigg, and Rylee Kanzigg Smith and her husband Zane Smith. He is also survived by his adored great-grandson, Quinn Michael Kanzigg.
