M.Sgt. Ivan James Walsh (Ret.) November 23, 1929 - July 16, 2016 Known to family and friends as "Jim", passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home in Gulf Breeze, FL. Jim was born in Steubenville, OH, completed his military service out of Williams Air Force Base, Chandler, AZ, and eventually relocated with his late wife and family to Gulf Breeze, FL. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Daisy Pickron Walsh (2012). He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Dale Walsh and Terry Lynn Walsh Malcolm; sisters Kay Ann Waites and Honey Walsh (husband, Jim Foulk); sister-in-law, Mary Lois Pratt and brother-in-law, W. Scotty Pratt; sister-in-law, Bettye Ann Lolley Pickron; son-in-law, James A. Malcolm; four grandchildren, Shanna Lynn Walsh Laborde (husband, Craig Stephen Laborde), Christopher John Escobedo, Jamie Diane Huerta (husband, Abel S. Huerta, III), and Bobbi Jo Malcolm Rubright; nine great grandchildren, Chad Stephen Laborde, Colin Stephen Laborde, Cade Stephen Laborde, Colt Stephen Laborde, Alex Santiago Huerta, Naomi Nicole Huerta, Juliana Lynn Huerta, Jacob Malcolm and Shane Rubright; and an abundance of extended family and friends. Jim served his country as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician in the Army Air Corp and retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He then went on to receive a second retirement from Valley National Bank as a Systems and Data Processing Analyst. His military awards and recognitions include: Air Force Longevity Service Award w/ 3brOLC, Good Conduct Medal w/ 5brLps, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/ 1BSS, and a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 P.M., Friday July 22, 2016 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze. Visitation will begin 30 minutes prior to the service. Military honors rendered by the United States Air Force will follow the service.
