1939 George 2023

George Weber

October 5, 1939 — December 5, 2023

George Arthur Weber passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2023.

He was born in Houston, Texas on October 5, 1939, the son of Lois and George Weber and the brother of Jimmie L. Weber of Houston, Texas.

He is survived by Bettie, his loving wife of 63 years, and their son Joel Christopher and his wife Pamela Mayhall. He is called Opa by his three grandchildren: Scott, Madison, and Grant, whom he dearly loved.

In 1957 he graduated from Reagan High School in Houston; in 1960 he married Bettie; in 1961 he graduated with honors from the University of Texas in Austin, receiving his BBA degree; in 1962 he passed his CPA exam and began his career with Touche Ross & Co. in Houston.

He took time to proudly serve his country in the Texas Air National Guard.

George made a wise decision in 1976 and joined Sysco Corporation to become a corporate officer. He remained there until his retirement in 2002. There he reached his goal of fulfillment in his career.

In 2009 he and Bettie moved to Gulf Breeze, FL to be closer to their family.

George was active for many years in church service and activities in Houston. He loved to read. He loved art and classical music, in particular. He was a dog-lover. He was a quiet man, a generous, a caring man. But more than anything else, he loved God and loved being with his friend, and his family, especially his grandchildren.

While he will be missed, he’s in heaven now with Jesus, his Savior. No more pain. Just joy!
