Frank Hand, Jr.

Frank Hand, Jr. (Bubba), age 76, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away on September 24, 2023.

Bubba was born at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL to Frank and Lillian Hand on April 14, 1947. Bubba graduated from Pensacola High School in 1965.  He attended Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida.

Bubba married Rebecca O’Daniel on December 6, 1969. He then started what would turn out to be a forty-year career in the phone business. He worked for Southern Bell, Bell South and AT&T, specializing in Fiber Optics.

Bubba was an avid fisherman and diver who loved being on the water. He was a dedicated runner who ran 6 miles every day. Bubba loved listening to music until the very end. His favorites were the Eagles, Rascal Flatts, and Meghan Trainor. He had the most amazing smile and he loved his family with every ounce of his being.

Bubba was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Becky Hand; daughter, Melissa Montgomery; granddaughters, Mia Montgomery, Ella Montgomery, and Lily Montgomery; grandsons, Carson Harvey and Weston Gray; all of Gulf Breeze, FL; brother-in-law and best friend, Mike O’Daniel and wife Dale O’Daniel of Gulf Breeze; and brother-in-law, Andy O’Daniel of Gulf Breeze; nephews, Michael (Tena) O’Daniel of Pensacola Beach, Brett O’Daniel of Gulf Breeze, and Drew (Kylee) O’Daniel Tallahassee, FL; niece, Shannon (Chris) Pazos of Mandeville, LA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church with the Eulogy by Kevin Cook and Pastor Bill Lamont officiating.
