Delma Barnes

January 11, 1947 — October 8, 2021

Gulf Breeze, Florida

Dee Barnes, 74, passed away 08 October 2021 due to Covid. She was a caring, compassionate, loving, and special lady. She always had a kind word for everyone, always putting family and friends before herself. She was a dental assistant for 25 years, retiring in 2000 to take care of her growing family. She was the momma bear who cared for and protected not only her cubs, but the many friends of her children and grandchildren. Not unlike momma bears in nature, you came between her and cubs at your own peril. She was the guiding force with her family, who had so much love in her heart to share. Deema was the kindest, most gentle person we have ever known. She will be terribly missed but has left us with so many good memories.

She is predeceased by her parents, William R. Davis, Jr. and Phyllis J. Moseberth, siblings Susie R. Davis, Kama D. Davis and Pax P. Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Grover E. (Woody) Barnes, Jr., children Robert K. Barnes, and Christina R. Molter; grandchildren Monique S. Barnes, twins Tanner V. and Miranda R. Molter, and Malia R. Barnes; great grandchildren Alexia M. Barnes, Miyah L. Cottrell and Hadley A. Laisney, all of Gulf Breeze; a special loving sister-in-law Jenny S. (Buddy) Moore of Winterville, NC; siblings; Rory N. Davis of Gulf Breeze, Dana R. (Lynn) Sheridan, William R. (Renee) Davis, III, Dulce R. (Eddie) Eaves, Michael B. (Anne) Davis, Kevin R. Davis, Dori R. Davis, Robin H. (Jean) Davis, Diana R. Davis, and Deborah R. (Roy) Pennington.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Gulf Breeze Hospital for their special care, and to our many friends who are with us in our time of grief.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 13th, at 12 o’clock at Community Life Center, 4115 Soundside Dr., Gulf Breeze, FL (850-916-1660). Because of her wonderful love of children, in lieu of flowers we feel sure Deema would want donations to your favorite children’s charity.
