Daxie-Isse Puentes

June 28, 1939 — December 22, 2025

“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate” (Proverbs 31:31).

Daxie Puentes, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and inspiration to many, passed away on December 22, 2025.

Daxie emigrated from Cuba in 1958 and was proud to call the United States her home. Shortly after arriving in America, she married, and the young couple moved to Miami, Florida.

A vibrant example of drive and compassion, Daxie’s life was defined by a restless quest for knowledge. She channeled this passion into a diverse career as an artist, entrepreneur, and director of a non-profit organization, consistently using her personal growth as a toolkit to help others discover their potential.

Daxie’s love for her family knew no bounds. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alberto; her daughter Denise; her son Albert and his wife, Erin; and her beloved grandchildren, Christian, Adrian, and Marissa. She is also survived by her beautiful sisters, Libia and Maria Yasmina, along with her wonderful nieces and nephews, whom she always showered with love.

Her family will forever remember her positive outlook on life, the love she shared, and her ability to warm the hearts of all she met.

Daxie’s ashes will be placed in a niche at the Rose Lawn Columbarium in Gulf Breeze, Florida, during a private family ceremony.
