On Friday, April 7, 2023, Good Friday, the Taylor family lost the greatest of the good. Beloved husband, father and Poppop, Clifford Joe Taylor, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 85 from a rare and aggressive form of leukemia in Pensacola.

Cliff was born in Jonesboro, AR but spent most of his childhood and young adult life in the San Diego, CA area in the beach communities of Mission Bay and Pacific Beach. After serving his country in the Air Force where he worked as an aircraft mechanic, he returned to Pacific Beach and soon met the love of his life, Sally Ann. While settling down and starting his family, he continued to serve his country in the civil service working for NADEP in aircraft maintenance and received his AA degree from San Diego Mesa College.

In time, Cliff would be transferred from NADEP North Island to NAS Pensacola where he would eventually retire as a Supervisor of the maintenance team working on the H53 Helicopter. He was a proud, longtime resident of the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach communities, a founding member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Pensacola Beach, member of the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge and volunteer at the Alfred-Washburn Center. His greatest joys in life were his family, wood-working, and cruising. He and Sally have cruised over 60 times.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Sally Ann Taylor; children LeeAnn Taylor, David Taylor and Myra Gallagher, Mark and Rebecca Taylor; grandchildren, Shawn Eidson, Michael and Rachel Eidson, Megan Judd, Katherine and Mike Turnage, Zac and Annemarie Taylor, Marley Taylor, Chris and Kendall Taylor, Jordan Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; his cousins Ann Higgins and Susan Martin, and dear friends Karen and Mike Jurkowich.

Cliff is preceded in death by his father, Jewell Taylor, and mother, Dorothy Crist.

The Taylor family would like to send a special thank you to all the medical care professionals who took exceptional care of Cliff and the family while at Sacred Heart Hospital. Thank you to the 5th Floor Cardiology Unit, 2nd Floor Oncology Unit and Covenant Care Inpatient Hospice Center for their kindness, compassion, laughter and tears.

The Taylor Family will be honoring Cliff's life Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Pensacola Beach. Music and visitation will be at 10:30am with the memorial service beginning at 11:00am. A reception will be held in the church hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alfred-Washburn Center in Pensacola in the memory of Cliff Taylor.
