Brenda O'Daniel

November 27, 1950 — August 14, 2018

Brenda Susan Holliday O'Daniel, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

She was born November 27, 1950, the daughter to Allen "Pop" and Lillian Mae Holliday at Pensacola NAS Navy Hospital. She was raised in Pensacola. She has been married to her sweetheart Andy O'Daniel since February 7, 1969.

Known to so many as "Miss Brenda", she fulfilled her purpose and passion of working with the youth, especially those of Pre-K ages, for over 30 years. Her career began at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. She spent several years working at Creative Learning Center. She then served the majority of her years at Episcopal Day School eventually retiring in 2012. She worked vigorously with a splendid smile bringing joy to those she taught and worked with.

A devout Christian, Brenda grew up attending Richard's Memorial and was member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist for over 40 years. She was passionate about the children's ministry and each summer so looked forward to working Vacation Bible School. Known for being so kind and sweet, her joy would transcend the love of the Lord.

Brenda was passionate about her grandchildren. She loved dining with close friends, family gatherings, and boat rides with her Andy. She enjoyed a good nap with her puppies, often after working in her flower beds.

She is preceded by Allen S. Holliday and Lillian Mae Holliday. She is survived by her husband Andy O'Daniel Jr; children Shannon Pazos (and Chris), Drew O'Daniel (and Kylee); grandchildren Philip Pazos, Sarah Pazos; her brother Bruce Holliday (and Pam); and her puppy Charley.

The family would like to express gratitude to those who helped with her medical needs and comfort, Dr. Anita Westafer, Dr. Siyamwala, Dr. Ibrahim, Emerald Coast Hospice, and the family and friends who shared time, effort and love. Your kindness made her life better during her final days.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School and/or Episcopal Day School's PreK (www.edscc.org) marked Brenda O'Daniel Memorial.
