Obituary

Bradley Allen Henderson, 75, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away at home under hospice care on October 7, 2026. He leaves behind a family who loved him, a lifetime of stories, and quite possibly enough material for several more sermons, radio broadcasts, and unsolicited opinions.

Born on May 11, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia, Brad was a man who knew his way around a microphone, a pulpit, and eventually, a car dealership. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY but before answering the call to full-time paid ministry, he served two years in the United States Air Force, followed by four years in the National Guard where his job title was radio repairman, but he couldn’t repair radios. After his military service, he found his way to the radio airwaves as a disc jockey at WTCR in Huntington, West Virginia. Apparently, talking for a living was less of a career choice and more of a calling.

Brad spent many years working in radio and television advertising while simultaneously preaching full time. Few people could balance selling a product, sharing the Gospel, and holding an audience’s attention quite like someone who had mastered both the airwaves and the art of a good sermon. Whether he was behind a microphone or standing in a pulpit, Brad had a voice, a point of view, and something to say.

His life was shaped by faith, family, and a career that allowed him to do what he did best: communicate. He understood that words could inform, persuade, entertain, and occasionally get a person into trouble. His humor was part of his charm, his advice was often worth listening to, and his presence had a way of making an ordinary conversation memorable. He knew how to make people laugh, how to share what he believed, and how to leave people with something to think about. Those who knew him will carry his stories, his wisdom, and his humor with them - and will likely hear his voice in their heads every now and then when they need a little guidance.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Jerome Henderson; his mother, Mildred Cremeans; and his father-in-law, Eugene Patrick.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Henderson, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; his daughter, Angel (Eddie) Ellis, of Milton, Florida; his daughter, Crystal (Brian) Brooks, of El Dorado, Arkansas; and his son, Wesley (Sarah) Henderson, of Gulf Breeze, Florida.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jacob Henderson of Navarre, Florida; Dakota Henderson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Garrett Brooks of Irving, Texas; Destin Henderson of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Caleb Middlestadt of Milton, Florida; and Cooper Middlestadt of Milton, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Chapman, of Kissimmee, Florida.

His family will remember him in their own ways: through shared memories, familiar stories, lessons learned, and the occasional retelling of a tale that may have grown just a little more interesting with each passing year. After all, a man who spent his life in radio and advertising knew that presentation matters.

Brad’s passing leaves an empty place in the lives of those who loved him, but his story does not end here. His influence lives on in his family, the people he encountered through ministry, and the countless conversations and memories that will continue long after the microphone has gone quiet.

We imagine Brad would appreciate knowing that even in his obituary, he managed to get the last word - or at least a few paragraph’s worth.

A celebration of life service is being planned for a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.

Until then, may he rest in peace, may his family find comfort in the love they shared, and may the stories of Bradley Allen Henderson continue to be told - with affection, a little laughter, and just enough embellishment to keep things interesting.
