Betty was raised on a farm in southwest Oklahoma, graduated from Lone Wolf High School and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX. It was in Lubbock that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Rausch, a pilot in the Army Air Corps. They were married on November 7, 1942 and had 59 years together before he passed in January 2002. Betty and Ken raised their five children in Palmyra, NJ before retiring to Gulf Breeze in 1988. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, and especially cooking for friends and family. Betty could remember all the important family dates for her extended family including cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as their children. She always looked forward to the Steele family reunions in Mangum, Oklahoma where she could catch up on all the "doings" of her large family. A celebration of Betty's life will be at Rose Lawn Funeral Home on July 16, 2015 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola or a charity of your choice.
