Betty Joan Langham Doss, age 80, a resident of Gulf Breeze, FL died Monday, October 23, 2017 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, William Eugene Doss, Sr.
Betty was one of eleven children born to the late Laudy Langham and Maude Drew Langham of Bay Minette. She graduated from Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette in the class of 1955 where she was a cheerleader, Beta Club member, and a delegate to Girls State. Following graduation she was employed with Delta Airlines as a stewardess for 35 years retiring in 1994. She served as an inflight service coordinator international having flown the world from Germany to France to Spain, England, Denmark and Belgium. Through the years she enjoyed skiing in Aspen and the beaches of Destin with her husband, and currently golfing and bridge in Gulf Breeze. She also held membership in Gulf Coast Friends (social and charitable organization) and Clipped Wings Delta Airlines Elks of Pensacola Beach.
She is survived by two stepchildren, Karen Doss Immler of Desoto, TX and William Eugene Doss, Jr. of Madison, AL; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Little of Bay Minette, AL and Sheron Johnson of Fairhope, AL and one brother, Tommy Langham of Bay Minette, AL.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Lloyd, Alex and Billy Langham; three sisters, Polly Minor Sanders, Deanie Hermann and Bobbie Dunn.
Betty was loved dearly by her siblings and a host of friends because of her loving and unselfish nature. She was just a wonderful human being and will be solely missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway in Gulf Breeze, FL with Dr. Jeff Langham officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Destin Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 27, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral at Rose Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
