Avis Thomes

Avis Thomes, age 90, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Born in Slayton, MN, she was the only child of Albert Servine Peters and Cressa Veronica Campbell Peters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Phoenix Thomes, Jr. and their son, Sidney Phoenix Thomes III. Avis is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Thomes Angel and husband, Harold Angel, Dayton, Ohio; Lucy Thomes Belk and husband, William Belk, MD, Pensacola; Sally Thomes King and husband, Thomas King, MD, Gulf Breeze: daughter-in-law, Joan Thomes Herter, Naples, FL; grandchildren, Robin Campbell Thomes and husband, Kurt Lee, Sarasota; Christopher Phoenix Thomes and wife, Kim Widmer Thomes, Panama City; Christopher Thomes King, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Lauren Elizabeth King, Atlanta. Great-grandchildren are Campbell Phoenix Thomes Lee, Sarasota and Reilly Elizabeth Thomes, Panama City. The family would like to thank the Azalea Trace staff for their loving care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 2:00 in the chapel at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright St. with the Reverend Mr. Harry Hill officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor before the service.
