Arthur “Art” Lynch, age 99, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away on July 10, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Mary Lynch.
Art experienced the Great Depression and fought in World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor in combat during a fight to liberate the prison camp at Dachau. After discharge, he worked in steel mills, attended and graduated from Youngstown State University, and married Carolyn L Lynch in 1947. Together they raised seven children. His professional career began in Ohio, but he joined the Lewis Bear Company in 1973 and moved to Florida. He retired from Lewis Bear as Senior Vice President of Accounting. After retirement, Art and “Corky” travelled extensively, often with their children.
He is preceded in death by Corky, his sons, Robert (Carol) and Brian; his parents; brothers, John, Thomas, Richard, Martin, and Lawrence, and sisters, Ann, Catherine, and Maureen.
Survivors include his children, Michael (Beverly, Granville, Ohio), Karin (Gulf Breeze, Florida), Susan (Ray, Golden Oak, Florida), Richard (Karen, Gulf Breeze, Florida), and Kevin (Andrea, Torrance, California), sister, Dorothy, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
