A proud Marine, Floyd, served in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years. He embodied the Marine values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his service. After a decade of active duty, he made the difficult decision to seek a hardship discharge to care for his wife, Elizabeth, and their new son. This selfless act was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family. He continued working in the private sector where his specialty revolved around repairing and maintaining the workings of motorized vehicles. His expertise expanded to clocks and his specialty was with grandfather clocks down to pocket watches.
Floyd will be remembered for his steadfast heart and quiet strength. He leaves behind a cherished legacy for his two beloved sons, Stephen Floyd Polke and David Grant Polke. His unwavering devotion to his family will forever be an inspiration.
His family will hold a graveside service on October 10th at 11:00 for family and friends to honor Floyd's life and service.
