If I’m up, you’re up!!
A truly great man who was gracious and kind to all his son’s Naval Academy classmates including me. His legacy is an amazing family and extended family. Much love to all the family. Nancy and I have fond memories of the Benvenutti Family as a whole, and it all started with this man.

Sue, how sorry to hear of Gene's passing this week. One can never prepare completely for a loss of a loved one. But then you shared an incident from a few weeks ago when Gene spoke three simple words to you. Of all the words he could have spoken the gregarious never met a stranger Gene chose three heart felt words. It was nothing but the mercy of our Heavenly Father pulling back the curtain of the dark muddled mind that was Gene and allowing him a brief moment to speak to you. Those words "I LOVE YOU" came from the core of his soul and came bursting through to let you know HE KNEW YOU and cared deeply for you. I believe those words also were for his children, grandkids, and great grandkids. What a legacy to know that his love for his Sue will last into eternity .What a gift to leave his family. May God Bless and Comfort.

Gene served Okaloosa-Walton Community College as its registrar in a dignified and hard-working manner. His wit and friendliness set a positive tone for the administration and leadership of the college. My sincere best wishes for Sue and the children.
