Kimberly Ann Himlin, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2018, after a long and valiant fight with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born October 26, 1972, the daughter of Robert and Mary Ann Krebbeks of Fairport, New York.
She attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she met her soulmate, David Himlin. They were married for 16 of their 23 years together as best friends.
Known to all as “Kimi”, she lived her passion as a devoted mother and wife, raising two beautiful children – Tyler (14) and Emma (11). As a part time teacher at Oriole Beach Elementary school, she touched the hearts of many children and colleagues.
Known for her gentle, giving, and loving nature, zany personality, and her signature-cackle laugh – Kimi left her indelible mark on others, inspiring them to be their best. Her contagious smile and infectious laugh would light-up a room. Her love of animals was evident throughout her life.
She was a devout Christian woman who lived her faith humbly and gracefully. Her Faith was a great source of strength and comfort throughout her illness.
Kimi is survived by her loving husband, David Himlin; amazing children, Tyler Lee and Emma Cay; parents, Mary Ann and Bob Krebbeks; brother Scott (Amy); sister Carrie (Gregg); nieces Anna, Grace, Olivia, Paige, Allison, Alainna, and nephew Liam; father and mother-in law, David Sr and Mary Himlin; brothers-in law, Aaron and Justin Himlin. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Her Spirit continues to live in all who loved her.
For anyone compelled to send flowers or gifts – please consider one of Kimi’s final wishes – to donate to Metavivor.org – an organization dedicated specifically to Metastatic Breast Cancer research and support.
