I first met Loretta when I was 13 years old, at Josephine's junior high graduation party. Jo would always tell stories about her big sister, so I was already in awe of her before I even met her. She did not disappoint.

Now, almost 40 years later, I am still in awe of the woman she became. Even though I don't know all of her children personally (only Anne, and Joey when he was a newborn) I have always kept up to date through Jo and I know that she raised her children to be wonderful adults and this will be her legacy. Your mom was one of a kind and I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am that you've lost her so young. My thoughts are with all of you and I'm sorry I can't be there in person to celebrate her life.

With love,
Elaine Herman

Loretta was always so friendly and full of life. She was beautiful both in appearance and in spirit. I love the obituary pictures of her. What a gorgeous lady. Years ago after Anne and Erin became friends...my dad Joe was so surprised when he realized he knew Loretta from Bay Window Deli. She was one of those people you never forget. She'll be missed by everyone who knew her. Our deepest sympathies to all the family. Pat & John Adkison

My husband and I met Loretta’s daughter Anne through my brother, Michael. Anne is very dear to our family, especially my 5 year old daughter (Chloe loves her Aunt Anne with all of her heart). Although I had not yet had the opportunity to meet Loretta, I have no doubt in my mind that she was as kind, loving and young hearted as the daughter who has come to mean so much to our family. We are so truly sorry for your loss.

Debi, Todd and Chloe

I can't tell you all how sorry I am. My heart just breaks for your family. I regret so much that Loretta and I didn't stay in touch, but when I would see her around town, she would catch me up on the family. She was so very proud of all of you. She was a bright light and a beautiful person.

Anne and Family,
I remember so many things about Loretta. As a teenager, I admired her perfectly arched eyebrows and asked her to teach me how to shape mine. She showed me how to find the arch and where to pluck. I remember knocking on the door at Tibet, dogs going wild on the inside, and Loretta's voice as she tried to clear a path through them for me to come inside. I remember spending many New Year's Eve nights with your family as a kid. I remember how easily she smiled. When she took care of your grandmother and later Jennifer, I remember her saying that she had enough love for everyone in her life that needed it.

Be strong when you can and rest when you need to.
All my love and deepest sympathy,
Erin

Anne and Family,
My heart is heavy for all of you.

Anne, your mom was a beautiful person--both on the inside and out. I haven't seen your mother in a number of years, but I vividly remember your mother's gorgeous eyes, warm smile and sweet, sweet spirit. When I was going through some particularly challenging times, your mother's chats and wonderful hospitality meant the world to me. Just to know she cared and took the time to sit and talk with me...what a rare, amazing quality that is. She taught me that the smallest gestures really do mean the world to another.

Thank you, Loretta, for teaching me that.

Anne, please know that we are sending loving, comforting thoughts your way. I pray that peace rests in your heart today and in the days that follow.

Kristi and Family

So sad ! I worked with Loretta 24 years ago at the Bay Window Deli when I was just a kid.She waited tables with me and was so kind to my family and then I ran into her years later working at Niki's Pizza and of course she remembered me and always a pleasure to wait on .Always a kind word to me and a great sense of humor. When I read the news I thought oh my gosh it has to be her and unfortunetly it was.SO sad to hear about her loss and the light and postive optimism she brought to this world. My condolences and my mothers too.Mary and Arlene Bedard
